Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is meant to increase the visibility of the website in search engines. The better the SEO technique, higher is the visibility of a website on Google, DMOZ, Yahoo, AltaVista, Dogpile and other search engines. Of these, Google is the current ruler, hence most SEO efforts are directed towards attaining high Page Rank on google.com. For a commercial website it means a lot. If your website is not getting traffic, means that website is not getting visitors and it directly means that website is not able to sale any thing. Just because a website is not getting visitor it won’t be able to fulfill the desire of its owner.

Websites will always require visitors and for that we will have to do the search engine optimization, so that visitors can come to the websites and we can convert them into customers.

However, this concept of SEO is being misused by many writers and content developers. For instance, when a keyword is typed, lot of websites crop up which have little relationship with the topic you are searching for. This is because many sites are peppered with popular keywords, not only in their content, but also in Meta tags just to achieve high ranking in google.com. This is commonly known as spam.

Today, mostly all website owners are interested in SEO because of the increasing knowledge about the benefits of SEO. Professionals are interested in learning SEO because of the money associated with it.
Now an era has arrived when people are looking for there own websites, and they are also aware from the fact that it should have good visibility too. Hence, demand of website design and development and SEO is increasing day by day. As the number of websites will increase demand for SEO will also increase. Hence, I can see a good prospect of search engine optimization in India and Pakistan in near future.

Also from the market point of view, work of SEO is quite costly in western countries, and it is quite cheaper in India. Hence, people are use to outsource there work to India. They use to take work from there and then outsource it to India or Pakistan so that they can get the work done in a cheaper rate, and they can get good cost for it. Hence, scope of SEO in India and Pakistan in near future is quite good.

What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (”organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Typically, the earlier a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines. This gives a web site web presence.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimizing a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines.

The acronym “SEO” can also refer to “search engine optimizers,” a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site, SEO tactics may be incorporated into web site development and design. The term “search engine friendly” may be used to describe web site designs, menus, content management systems and shopping carts that are easy to optimize.

Another class of techniques, known as black hat SEO or Spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that degrade both the relevance of search results and the user-experience of search engines. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques in order to remove them from their indices.

We can also say that it’s a process of making your website search engine friendly, so is to get the targetted search engine visitors to your website through keywords.

Website Optimization & Marketing Services

We have developed a six-step process for obtaining top rankings in the search engines through our website marketing services.

The following is an outline of our website optimization process:

1- Research Keywords

The first thing we do is create a robust keyword portfolio of relevant keyword phrases that are searched on by potential customers. We begin with your input on what your most important keywords are, then expand that list by cross-checking the list against the search engines’ databases of actual keyword searches. This helps us target the right words—the ones that will actually deliver customers to your website.

2- Analyze Competitors

We then determine what your top competitors are doing in regards to search engine optimization. We look at how many links they have, where they are getting those links and the keywords they are optimizing their websites for. This gives us the edge to see what is working to get top results for your keywords so we can improve up on those strategies and move your site above your competitors in the search engines.

3- Develop Search Strategy

After careful analysis of your competitors, we will formulate a strategy for improving your overall search engine visibility. We will lay out a step-by-step plan for what needs to happen to move your site to achieve optimal results for your keywords.

4- Optimize Website Content

Based on your chosen keywords, we will make the necessary adjustments to your website to include important keyword phrases in the right places. This will enable your site to show up for your selected keywords. We will also make recommendations for additional content or keyword-related topics to include on your website to attract additional keyword search traffic.

5- Link Building

Links from other websites are a very important part of getting your site ranked well in the search engines. We recruit links to your website from various sources. We submit your site to the most appropriate categories in all the major web directories. We then identify additional niche directories to submit your site to including local and industry-specific sites. Additional links are obtained from online press releases, articles and other sources. Link building is an ongoing process that must be done continually to stay ahead of the competition.

6- Monitor and Adjustments

Each month we provide ranking reports to track the status of your site in the search engines. We monitor your website traffic, paying close attention to where the traffic is coming from and which keywords people use to find your website. We are able to analyze which keywords are most effective in generating leads or sales and adjust our search engine optimization tactics to focus on the most productive keywords.
